Like Mike: LeBron James Scores 23, Does A Couple Of MJ Moves In Chicago
On Monday, LeBron James not only reenacted a couple of moves by “the ghost that played in Chicago” he’s chasing, the King scored 23 points…against the Bulls…in Chi-town! How is that for an homage to the GOAT?
James also had 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals as the Cavs easily beat the Bulls 113-91 and extended their win streak to 12. After the game, he was asked about the streak and said, “I’m not Nostradamus so I did not see the streak.”
I’m no Nostradamus either, but I can tell you if James continues to dominate his 15th season in the league like a young, hungry All-Star looking for his first finals appearance (not 7th), he’s not only going to win MVP and head back to the Finals for another date with the Warriors, I see him coming a lot closer to catching that ghost.
Speaking of the MVP award, me and Richard Jefferson had a conversation about it last year and how voters fall in love with “sexy stats” and end up giving the award to someone based off of those stats and trending stories. For that reason, and because James (like MJ in the 90s) has spoiled basketball fans with his ability to be consistently great, James ONLY has four MVP awards.
