Back in the Summer League, Lonzo Ball recorded a triple-double while wearing a pair of Adidas Harden shoes. On Sunday, Lonzo had the chance to play against the man himself and didn’t exactly help any daily fantasy players win any money.
In 22 minutes, Lonzo went 0-4 from the field (3 were three attempts) and finished with 2 points, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 1 rebound and 3 turnovers in the Lakers 5th loss in a row. It was his second game this season with 0 field goals and third with 2 or less points. I personally don’t think the lack of points is that big of a deal but his 3 assists is tied with his second lowest output of the season.
“A lot of what we try to do depends on him, which is a lot of pressure to put on a young rookie,” Said Coach Walton on Lonzo, who was playing with some calf tightness. “Tonight we just didn’t get that much out of him.”
As expected, the Rockets got a lot from their MVP candidate. In 35 minutes, James Harden scored a game-high 36 points on 13-of-22 shooting, to go with 9 assists, 4 boards and 2 steals in the 23-point victory. The win gave the Rockets their 7th in a row and 13th in the past 14 games.
James Harden’s career-high of 17 assists came against the Lakers last season.
