How many times have you seen a player get hit with a tech for throwing the ball too hard at a ref? How many times have you seen a player hit the ref with a tech after the ref hit the player with the ball?
On Sunday, Manu Ginobili jokingly called a tech on referee Leroy Richardson after Leroy bounced the ball into the face of Manu after Manu told the ref to hold on.
This was the most interaction between Manu and a ref since the time he teamed up with one to kill a bat during a game.
Unfortunately, things on Sunday got a little more serious later in the game when Manu sprained his ankle.
“He will be out for a good week, I’m sure,” coach Gregg Popovich said. “A week to 10 days.”
“Fortunately, it’s not as bad as they thought,” Duncan said. “Hopefully he can be back pretty quickly. We need what he brings to our game.”
