Before you feel too bad for Mario Chalmers because of the verbal lashings from his teammates, fans calling him dirty, or being the butt of so many jokes, keep in mind that Chalmers is a champion. A rare champion that has won at the high school level, in college and in the NBA (twice & working on his third…sort of). A champion that is also making $4 million a year.
OK, since we aren’t feeling so bad for Rio right now, let’s move on to the jokes. Chalmers is having a really bad series. How bad? According to ESPNStatsInfo, he’s the only starter in the last 30 seasons to play 50+ minutes and score 10 points or few while shooting 25% of less from the field in the NBA finals.
“I think everybody else is doing their job and I’m being that guy that’s not helping out. I don’t want to be that guy,” said Chalmers after GM3.
Unfortunately for Chalmers, he is that guy for right now and the reason why the hashtag #PGsBetterThanChalmers started trending last night.
So who are these better point guards?
