My favorite Mark Cuban story ever is the one about him having Magic Johnson kicked off a plane because Cuban had a special lifetime travel pass with American Airlines. My 2nd favorite story from my favorite Shark might be the one he told on Bill Simmons’s new show Any Given Wednesday.

Sitting alongside author Malcolm Gladwell, Cuban told a funny story about his first awkward NBA owners meeting, where all the owners quietly sit and listen to David Stern.  Cuban asked to speak and was told by one of the other owners, “Shut the fuck up. You have never done anything in this league. You don’t know shit. Just stay the fuck out of the way!”

It’s hard to imagine a no-filter billionaire, who wouldn’t sell the Mavs for $3 billion, being talked to that way, but I guess it happens at these “dick-swinging” meetings.

Simmons also had an amusing bit about the New York Knicks and how their management will continue to destroy the franchise.
