I want to “Trust The Process” but I have to stop believing in the “76ers Curse” first. An annoying curse that resulted in season-ending injuries for Ben Simmons, Jerryd Bayless, Robert Covington, Jahlil Okafor, Sergio Rodriguez and Joel Embiid last season. A curse that unfortunately struck again on Saturday night.
During the third quarter of Saturday’s preseason game vs the Warriors, #1 Markelle Fultz suffered a left ankle injury after stepping on the foot of Jabari Brown, who also knocked Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to the ground with an elbow on the same play. The injury could sideline Fultz anywhere from a week to six weeks, which wont impact the NBA season but does mean his exciting Summer League run is definitely over since the championship game is next week.
Before the injury, Fultz was having his worst game of the Summer League, missing 9 of his 12 shots for just 8 points. As for TLC, he finished the game with 7 points and a couple of stitches in his lip.
Oh no no no.. don't do this to us
