Doug McDermott was put into the concussion protocol after taking a hard fall as a result of contact between him and Markieff Morris on a dunk attempt. Morris was given a flagrant foul 1 and due to the rep of him and his brother, a lot of fans are calling the play dirty.
McDermott’s teammate Taj Gibson disagreed.
“That was a regular old-school foul,” Gibson said. “But the way Doug took off, he left himself out in the open. … I don’t think nobody really tries to hurt anybody. It’s one of those plays.”
Morris also had a team-high 24 points, 15 boards and 3 blocks in the losing effort. McDermott had 5 points before the fall and seems to be having a painful start to this season.
