“That was so funny. I started laughing,” Speights said. “At least they still have trust in me, so it’s always good to have fans on your side.”
Not funny is the 76ers losing by 43 one night after losing by 45 to the Clippers. An accomplishment that puts them behind the 93 Sixers as the 2nd team to lose by 40+ on consecutive nights. Not funny is the 76ers were actually down by 49 in the 4th quarter.
What was funny is the Warriors fans chanting MVP in the 3rd quarter for former 76er Marreese Speights who was putting up Wilt like numbers on Wilt Chamberlain bobble head night. It was exactly 53 years ago that Wilt, playing for the Philadelphia Warriors, scored 48 points and grabbed 36 rebounds so for the first Warrior fans to enter the building on this night, they received a limited edition Wilt Chamberlain bobble head. Mo didn’t have a 50/30 game but in just 26 minutes off the bench he scored 32 points on 12-15 shooting and grabbed 8 boards and blocked 3 shots.
It’s safe to say Warriors fans got the most for their buck last night. They watched a historical beatdown. Chanted MVP for Mo. Went home with a Wilt toy and even saw Kent Bazemore throw down a dunk.
