Trae Young was in the building to watch his former 2017 Ballislife All-American game teammate, LiAngelo Ball, put up another 50-point game in his final regular season game of the inaugural no-defense-allowed JBA League. Gelo finished with 52 points on 18-of-44 shooting (8-of-24 from three) in the 169-153 win against the Houston team. The 52 pushed his scoring average to a league-leading 52, which is 12 more than the second leading scorer in the league — his little brother.
LaMelo had 34 points (13-25 FG, 5-15 3PT), 20 assists and 9 rebounds, giving him season averages of…40 PPG (2nd), 11.5 ASTS (1st) and 14.5 REBS (4th).
As for the Houston team, Curstis Hollis had a team-high 40 points (16-29 FG) to go with his 8 boards and 9 assists and Jordon Myers had 33 (15-26 FG) before fouling out in the final quarter.
The JBA will be hosting an “All-Star game” in Chicago on August 3rd. I’m predicting right now, LaMelo Ball has a 50-point triple-double and LiAngelo Ball scores at least 81 points. And the boxscore for that game will go down in the Boxscore Hall of WTF, right next to the one for Melo’s 92-point game in high school.
