KG has always had a reputation for being a bully with “little guys and white guys” in the NBA and backing down from bigger guys – like an Antonio McDyess. In the 4th quarter of last night’s Celtics win vs the favored Knicks, Melo lost his cool with the bully that lead to double techs and Melo shouting his favorite Cee-Lo lyrics to KG after KG told Melo about his favorite cereal.
Not satisfied with his departing words on the court, Melo went to the Celtics locker room to finish his conversation with KG. Nobody is talking about what happened here as both coaches denied knowing anything about the Melo cameo.
His whereabouts afterwards is more known as we have video proof that he was waiting by the Celtics bus and not to congratulate Doc on a win. Mike Woodson along with NYPD officers were also there to make sure Melo didn’t get to confront the playing dumb KG again.
I’m assuming David Stern isn’t going to like this story and will hand Melo a suspension but the league did let Zach Randolph off with a slap on the wrist and 25k fine for waiting for Kendrick Perkins after a game. Then again that’s Zach Randolph and a suspension to him is a day off and opportunity to get into more trouble.
