Did you know Metta World Peace had a team, called Courtside, in the Venice Beach League?  His team made their debut 2 weeks ago and Metta mainly played the coach role instead of player for the game.  He finished with only 7 points, 3 rebounds and a steal and his team lost by 24.  Then last week Metta decided to get serious and play and ended up with 20 points and 4 steals in a 3 point win.

Metta will play his 3rd game today and I’m expecting even bigger numbers from the former NBA champion and streetball star.  For those old school streetball fans on the east coast, you might remember Metta as a teenager named Ron Artest winning a championship for Puff Daddy at Rucker Park back in 1998.

Check out some photos of Metta at the VBL by photographer Bey Chua.
