Michael Beasley has been tearing up the CBA for the past few months and this weekend at the CBA All-Star Game the Shanghai Shark scored a record 59 points, grabbed 11 boards and the MVP award. Beasley connected on 27 of 37 shots and 5 of 10 from downtown. Since defense was non-existent he only attempted 2 free throws – surprisingly he missed both.
His South team won 142-123 against a North team with CBA legend Stephon Marbury (4pts) and former NBA player Andray Blatche who led his side with team-highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds.
Quincy Douby held the previous record with 44 points in the 2011 game.
