Michael Jordan told ESPN that he’s still dreaming about getting a 7th ring and surprisingly it “would be much more gratifying than the previous six.”
That might just be the owner in him talking because I personally can’t imagine him winning a ring as owner of the Hornets being more gratifying than the first one which took him 8 years to get. Or his 3rd which gave him a 3-peat. Or the “Father’s Day Title” on June 16th of 1996 which was dedicated to his father. Or his sixth and final one which gave him a 2nd 3-peat and was won with a game winner.
Anyways, it’s pointless for me to tell another person what they find more gratifying but I’m just saying I can’t imagine him really feeling that way especially since he admitted that being on the sidelines as the owner “isn’t as much fun.”
“I played this game for a long time and I always took criticism in a way that’s going to make me better as a basketball player and I could affect the game per se,” Jordan said. “Here, I can’t do that other than talking to my other employees or coaches or players.”
Well, one thing he can do as an owner and not as a player is live tweet during the game. Today is #MJTAKEOVER day on the Hornet’s social media accounts and Jordan will be posting updates all day long. His first post this morning also had a surprise: the 51 year old owner used LOL!
