A sellout crowd (3,100+) packed Highland High School's gym to get a glimpse of 17 year old Michael Porter Jr. (as well as Jayson Tatum who played afterwards). On a freezing, snowy night near St Louis, the 25th Annual Optimist Highland Shootout matched top teams from Missouri against top teams from Central and Southern Illinois.
6'9 junior Michael Porter Jr. led his Father Tolton Prep (Columbia, MO) team to a 79-66 victory over Peoria Manual HS (Peoria, IL). Scoring 31 and securing 10 rebounds, Porter was named game MVP.
