On paper, Mitch Richmond doesn’t seem that special.  He’s a scorer but only averaged over 23 points a game 5 times in his career.  He’s an all-star but all 6 of his appearances appeared with just 1 of his 4 teams (he did win MVP of the 95 All-Star game). He’s one of the best players in the league but never made the All-NBA 1st team.  He’s a NBA champion but only averaged 4 points and 1.5 boards a game during that championship season.

He’s now a hall of famer and I have no ‘but this’ or ‘but that’ to say.  I can come up with a hundred excuses to why the rookie of the year didn’t produce more stats or win more accolades but 1/3 of Run TMC is now 1 in the HOF so there’s no point in me trying to defend him – why bother since not many players in NBA history were able to do it.
