Damn! Not only did Mr. Viral clear the defender on the dunk, but he left the poor guy hanging when he tried to give him some dap for making him look like Fred Weis after he was struck by Vinsanity. I guess the happy to be dunked-on defender thought he was going to get the same love Chris “ID Theft Kingpin” Gatling did when he gave props to Shawn Kemp.
When I heard Angelo Sharpless was going by the nickname “Mr Viral” I thought it was a huge mistake. The biggest mistake since a pro dunker I know wanted to be known as “Mr 40 Inch.” I told that dunker unless he works in porn or sells TV at Best Buy he needs a new nickname. Although Angelo did have some viral success earlier in the year when he threw down one of the sickest self alley-oops ever but to have that name you need to be able to do something insane every time you step on the court. Well, so far as a member of the Court Kingz streetball team, the former Globetrotter has been doing a good job of repping that name.
Here’s a few examples from the CK’s current Asia tour.
