The most famous “I’m Back” in NBA history belongs to Michael Jordan on March 18th of 1995, when he released a press release saying just the two words. On May 9th of 2016, back-to-back MVP Steph Curry just challenged that title when he made a 3 in overtime against the Blazers in a GM4 victory and yelled “I’m back! I’m back!”

The 3 gave him his 12th point of the OT; He would finish the extra session with a NBA record 17 points – 3 more than the Blazers total and 2 more than the Heat and Raptors combined on the same night. A night that saw Curry come off the bench, miss his first 9 3-point attempts and then finish with 40 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 3-pointers and confirmation that he, not LeBron James, deserves the MVP award and that he belongs in Space Jam 2 ,with LeBron James, because Curry is not from this world.

OK, maybe i’m stretching here with the movie talk but the best way to describe what he did on Monday night is by showing this hilarious remix of the classic film ‘Forrest Gump.’

You really don’t know what you are going to get from Curry anymore. I was expecting to just see 27 minutes of rust. He did give us that, then he gave us a 10 minute finale as great as the greatest endings in cinematic history.

“I love this game, I love playing and love competing. And really, really missed being out there with my teammates,” Curry said. “To help our team get a win tonight and in that fashion, that was a good feeling in that moment to be back on the floor and playing.”
