NBA Players React To Dirk Nowitzki Joining the 30K Points Club

On Tuesday night, the Dallas Mavericks’ Dirk Nowitzki became just the sixth player (first international) to reach 30,000 points. Not bad for a player Dallas fans booed when the Mavs traded the late Robert “Tractor” Traylor on draft night to the Bucks for the unknown German who considered going back to Germany after a frustrating rookie season.

The milestone came early in the 2nd quarter after the 38-year old scored a career-best 18 first quarter points during a win against the Lakers. He finished the game with 25 points in just 24 minutes and considering he’s sticking around for another season, we might end up seeing him finish his NBA career ahead of Wilt Chamberlain for #5 on the all-time scoring list; Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are the top four.
