Tip to dunkers.  Unless you know for a fact you will be able to clear the person that is worth a lot of money to a professional team on one attempt, don’t ask that person to sit and/or stand in front of the rim so you can attempt to get a score and win less money than that player is getting to judge your dunk.

At the Toronto NBA3X tournament, Matt Bonner was the guest judge and was asked by one of the contestants to sit on a chair in front of the rim for his dunk.  Matt, against what the Spurs would want him to do, unwisely sat down and got kicked in the head as a reward.   Bonner got up quicker than a (I wont say it) and told the Raptors mascot to take his place.  The dunker made the dunk but what he’s going to learn from the YouTube video and this post is nobody remembers what you do after screwing up a dunk with a “celeb.”

Flashback to our first Sprite Showdown All Star event in Dallas TX.  Air Bama, an unbelievable dunker,  asked guest judge LeBron if he would assist him in a fairly routine dunk for him.  He missed the dunk but connected on LeBron and the name of the video that goes on YouTube is “Amateur Dunker Fails to dunk over LeBron James Before Sprite Amateur Dunk Contest” and in the description it says “That is what we call FAIL, my friends.”

Back to the beast that is Matt Bonner.  Check out this clip of Matt blocking Shaq!  Yes there should be an asterisks saying “Cavs Shaq”

If you love 3on3 basketball be sure to check out our 3on3 event Indoor3on3 next month.  The NBA3x will probably be at All-Star weekend and back on tour in the US next summer.
