As soon as I heard that EA was finally going to release NBA Live13 as a $20 digital download for PlayStation Network & Xbox Live in October I thought I better start writing a eulogy now since the series has a warm spot in my heart because of NBA Live 95 & 96. Live has been hibernating for the past few years since NBA Elite 11 was cancelled one week before it’s release because of “severe quality concerns.” During that time 2k Sports has become the leader in the NBA game market and with it’s great marketing and constantly new features it doesn’t look like they have to watch the throne especially if the best threat is a $20 digital download.
The game could still be good. I hope it is I good, I really do but in the meantime how does this sound for the first line of the Eulogy: Today, we are here to grieve the loss of a precious child of EA Sports, NBA Live, a past it’s prime game that was like a son to me, has sadly passed this realm. Although fate has already accomplished its deed, we can still remember the legacy Live has left at such a age. (then I put down the plagerized speech and turn on the multimedia presentation that shows the following videos)
