Back in August, Kevin Durant and James Harden drafted 16 players from a pool of ballers that submitted their audition videos to the Nike Basketball “Summer Is Serious” website for a shot at playing for Coach KD or Harden in the ultimate pick-up game in Brooklyn at the Tournament of Champions.
We were lucky enough to fly out East and cover the Nike event and we can tell you that the Summer really was Serious. Check out Nike’s recap of the #SummerIsSerious experience showing the journey of the players stepping off the plane and taking flight in the game that saw Kevin Durant and his Shirts team walk off with the win.
We would like to congratulate all of the players that participated in the event but wanted to give an extra shout out to a few baller friends of ours that we have covered over the years including Porter Maberry, Issac White, Chase Skinkis and Kirpatrick McCaulley. Shout outs to Los, Jonsey, Billy Doran, James Hinnant & Emmerich Grimm who were all in the running.
