The Open Court crew were discussing who “The Next 10 Great Players” are and here’s the unanimous 7 that was not on the NBA’s Top 50 list in 1996.
- Tim Duncan
- Kobe Bryant
- LeBron James
- Allen Iverson
- Kevin Garnett
- Dirk Nowitzki
- Dominique Wilkins (IMO, should have been on the original Top 50)
They then argued over the remaining 3 and here’s a few of the names that came up: Paul Pierce, Dwyane Wade, Alex English, Gary Payton, Jason Kidd, Tracy McGrady, Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Bob McAdoo and Steve Nash.
Reggie Miller was a controversial pick and surprisingly, Reggie himself, felt he didn’t belong on the list, but in my book, he’s easily in the top 10 and I wanted him on the original top 50 list.
After some discussion they added McAdoo and Webber to the list and then argued if DWade or Kevin Durant deserved the 10th spot.
