During a press conference last week, Heat president Pat Riley said he was “pissed” and basically put out a challenge to the big 3 by saying “You gotta stay together, if you’ve got the guts. You don’t find the first door and run out of it.”
“I’m not dropping championship rings on the table for those guys. They can drop their own.”
Yesterday morning, LeBron’s agent dropped an early bomb by letting the world know that his client was opting out of his contract and later that day, a much calmer sounding Pat Riley responded.
In that “pissed” press conference from last week, Riley also said “I don’t think we need to recruit Dwyane, LeBron and Chris again” but if he wants to keep them – LeBron and Bosh in particular – then it looks like they might have to.
