During Sunday’s beatdown on the Houston Rockets, Paul George had a shutdown performance against James Harden and threw down his best dunk in years (Yes, I saw his travel/dunk on Boogie Cousins last week). A dunk on Clint Capela that had people like me rushing to YouTube to rewatch his poster dunk on Birdman and high-flying highlights against LeBron James, Kevin Durant and every other NBA All-Star George deserves to be in conversations with.

Against Harden, George had 33 points on 13 for 23 shooting to go with 9 boards. Harden had 15 points and 8 assists but was just 3 for 17 from the field and turned the ball over eight times.

“It’s fun playing against the good matchups,” George said. “I get a rush and it’s an excitement for me. It’s what people come out to see — me versus him and us versus them.”

So in honor of his big game and win, let’s check out some throwback throwdowns that gave us a rush in the past.
