The Pistons’ Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 30 points against the Thunder on the last day of last season.  He made 11 of 19 shots including 5 of 7 from downtown but the only headline anybody cared about was another win for OKC behind 42 points by Kevin Durant.

3 months later, the Pope is still hot.  He scored 26 points and dished out 6 assists on Day 1 of the Orlando Summer League and followed that up yesterday with a 30 point 12 rebound game.

“Just creating my own shot, getting to the basket and finishing strong,” said Caldwell-Pope. “I been working on that a lot during the summer and it’s coming on.”

I have a feeling the former 8th pick of the 2013 draft is going to be averaging more than 6 points a game next season.  Then again, we are talking about the Pistons – the team that just signed Jokie Meeks to a big contract.
