How scary is this backcourt. Rajon Rondo made his Mavs debut on Saturday against the Spurs and dished out a game-high 9 assists (1 less than the entire Spurs team) to go with 7 boards, 2 steals and 6 points. He couldn’t buy a bucket with all of Cuban’s cash but he didn’t need to since teammate Monta Ellis went off for a season-high 38 points on 15 of 23 shooting. Dirk and Chandler were both in double figures and back-up PG Devin Harris chipped in with 13 in the Dallas victory.
“It was exciting,” Rondo said. “Best part was we got the win.”
“Rondo’s definitely a great player,” the Spurs’ Cory Joseph said. “He fills the stat sheet. He definitely can rebound. He can always pass the ball, so you’ve got to be aware on the weak side.”
