A “difference of opinion” is how Coach Rick Carlisle described the heated exchange between him and Rajon Rondo during the 3rd quarter. Despite the benching of the point guard, the Mavs still pulled off a victory over the Raptors.
“I thought it worked out well,” Carlisle said of Rondo’s absence. “The other guys stepped up, and we were able to win.”
Rondo, who finished with just 5 points and 4 assists, declined to speak to the media after the game but you can expect him back in the starting lineup for the Mavs next game. When Carlisle was asked if Rondo would be the point guard for the upcoming game against the Hawks, the coach replied “That’s what we brought him here for.”
