Last year, Raptors GM Masai Ujiri fired up a Toronto crowd by yelling “fuck Brooklyn” before GM1 against Paul Pierce and the Nets.  The speech cost him $25k and it’s possible that his speech yesterday before GM1 of the Raptors/Wizards game will also cost him some money after he fired up a crowd by saying “we don’t give a shit about it.”

The “it” he was referring to referenced a comment made by Paul Pierce earlier in the week to ESPN.

“We haven’t done particularly well against Toronto, but I don’t feel they have the ‘it’ that makes you worried.”

When Ujiri initially heard the comment he said “I honestly don’t have enough money to respond to him.”

But it seems like Ujiri did budget in 1 curse word.

“Typical Ujiri,” said Pierce who scored 20 points in the 93-86 victory over the Raptors. “You heard what he said last year when I was in Brooklyn. I could really care less. I think I can play the psychological war a little better than him.”
