Shaqtin’ a Fool first aired on Inside the NBA during the 2011/2012 NBA season. Unfortunately that means it missed this play from the end of the 2011 season that deserves to be in the Shaqtin’ a Fool hall of fame.
I do want to first state that as a fellow Seminole who also happens to live in Houston, I hate to make fun of FSU alum and former Rocket Von Wafer, but this man has had his share of foolish moments.
On 4/11/11, as a member of the Boston Celtics, playing in OT against the Wizards, Von had his most foolish moment: Up by 2, Von drove down the middle, went for a dunk and then celebrated under the basket. What he didn’t realize was he missed the dunk and when he turned around to run back on D, he ended up bumping into teammate Jermaine O’Neal which caused him to double dribble. The sequence was so bad that Brandon Knight would probably laugh at it.
WHERE IS WAFER NOW
Von is currently competing in the $1 million TBT (Basketball Tournament) but earlier in the year he was playing in China and unfortunately had this foolish moment.
CAN WE GET SOME GOOD VON STUFF?
Wafer’s best season was with the Houston Rockets and here’s some highlights of him going off for 18 4th quarter points.
