If you were active on basketball forums a few years ago, you probably saw or participated in a few threads about how big of a bust Ricky Rubio will be. Ricky made an instant splash in the NBA as one of the league’s most exciting players and this season he’s been showing glimpses of the type of star player that he can become. Last night the star in the making had his first triple double of 21 points 13 rebounds and 12 assists in a beatdown win over the Spurs.
The most exciting play and cherry on top came with a few minutes left in the game when Rubio did a double behind the back move before making a layup to give the Twolves a 25 point lead. The play reminded me of this play from a young Baron Davis.
