Now here’s a punishment coming from the league office that makes sense.  The 25k fine to Durant for making a “menacing gesture” is just ridiculous but suspending a “menacing” looking guy named “Rip” for elbowing a player in the face makes sense.

Just playing with Richard Hamilton, he’s one of the nicest guys in the league but his elbow to DeMar DeRozan’s face during Friday’s game was uncalled for.  Rip was called for a flagrant foul 2 and ejected.   Lucky for Rip, DeMar didn’t react to the elbow the way Dwyane Wade did last year. Unlucky for Rip, he wont have  a chance to play against Wade’s Heat team today.

Rip is fresh off the IL because of a back injury that caused him to miss 19 games.
