Rondo Passes Kobe on Triple Double List | 16/14/11 in win vs the Heat

The 2011/2012 triple double count is now Rajon Rondo 5 and the rest of the NBA 9.   On Sunday, Rondo tore up the Miami Heat in a Boston win and his 5th triple double put him ahead of Kobe Bryant on the all-time list and it only took 6 years to do it.


Let's take a look back at some of Rondo's best triple doubles

2008 vs Pacers: 16pts, 13 rebs & 17 asts.
This was Rondo's first triple double and also was his career high in assist

2008 Playoffs vs Bulls:  Rondo became the first Celtic player with 2 triple doubles in the same series since Bird did it in 1986.  He also became the first player with multiple triple-doubles in the same playoff series since Jason Kidd in 2002.

2008 Playoffs vs Magic.  Rondo's triple doubles tied Bird's franchise record.

2009 Playoffs vs Cavs.  Rondo records his 4th post season triple double with a playoff career high 29pts and 18 rebounds. He joined Wilt Chamberlain and Oscar Robertson as the only other player in NBA history to have 29 points, 18 rebounds and 13 assists in a playoff game
