Down by 2 with 3 seconds left in regulation, rookie sensation Kristaps Porzingis missed a 3-pointer. Underrated rookie Myles Turner grabbed the board and then went to the free throw line and made 1 of 2 shots. Melo then missed a potential game-tying shot at the buzzer and the Pacers came out victorious.
Paul George was the big story of the game since he scored 25 of his 27 points in the 2nd half, but Myles Turner was the other star of the night: Turner finished with 24 points and increased his double figure scoring streak to 8 games while barely averaging 30 minutes.
“Every time his number is called, he makes big plays,” George said. “We trust that he can make shots. He’s proven that. He’s the future, so you want to give him that confidence.”
Porzingis put up 22 points but was just 2 of 7 from downtown (5 of 18 over his last 4 games).
