Seriously, Mason Plumlee is still on the team? He was a DNP-CD during USA’s 112-86 win over Puerto Rico!

I’m just kidding about the USA’s decision to keep Plumlee over cut players Gordon Hayward, Kyle Korver, Chandler Parsons and NBA All-Star and All-NBA Selected Damian Lillard who I expect to be one of the best players in the league for the next decade. I guess Lillard was expendable because Kyrie Irving remained a starter, Stephen Curry, who scored 20 points and assisted on the highlight of the night, couldn’t get cut by a knife and the Return of Rose story is just too good to end for the fans and Team USA teammates.

“I feel very confident about Derrick,” Krzyzewski said before the final roster was announced. “I think Derrick feels very confident. Thought he played great tonight. And these guys want to play with him.”

“A great presence,” James Harden said. “Derrick brings something that we don’t have as far as being able to push the ball so fast and get into the paint and so athletic. Made a couple of passes, cross-court passes for open 3s. He looked phenomenal.”

He did look good and despite a close first half, the whole team looked pretty good.   Here’s the best pics and clips from the game.
