Anthony’s Davis’ 3 at the buzzer ruined an amazing night by Russell Westbrook that put him in the record books alongside names like Kobe, Wilt, Elgin, Bird and Maravich. Westbrook followed up a 45 point night with 48 points, 11 assists and 9 dimes against the Pelicans.
“He got whatever he wanted,” Durant said. “He was really, really aggressive, getting to the rim, shooting jump shots. He was great tonight. He carried us.”
The 45/10/5 line is the first since DWade did it back in 2009 and it marked the 4th time a player has ever had 45/5/5 in back-to-back games. The other 3 were Kobe, Wilt and Elgin Baylor.
Westbrook also broke Pete Maravich’s New Orleans record (12) of most consecutive games with 20+ points.
