Russell Westbrook racked up 21 points, 15 assists and 13 boards in a win against the Rockets on Tuesday for his 15th triple-double of the season and 34th of his career. It’s the most triple doubles in a season since in 1988/89 when Michael Jordan had 15 and Magic Johnson had 18. It also gave Westbrook his 6th of the month which leaves him just 1 behind Michael Jordan’s 7 from April of 89 (between March 24 and April 14 of 89 Jordan had a triple-double in 10 out of 11 games).
“That’s just a blessing,” Westbrook said. “Especially getting mentioned with those guys. Those guys are Hall of Famers. My job is try to help us win games and try to win a championship.”
