On Tuesday night, exactly 9 years after Kobe Bryant dropped 60 points on the Grizzlies. a 37 year old Kobe Bryant played his final game against the Memphis franchise and went out with 20 points, including 12 in 1 quarter.
After the game, his former teammate Shaquille O’Neal asked him for a very unlikely favor: Score 50 points in his final game on April 13th.
“Uh, No,” said a laughing out loud Kobe. “No! Absolutely not!”
Although it is very unlikely, Kobe has 5 games of 25+ in the past 2 months and a season-high of 38 points, so I can see the man, who once averaged 53 points a game over a stretch of 5 games, pulling off 1 more 40 point performance before closing his locker at Staples for the very last time.
