SHAQ says he’s done with rapping but wants to be in Sharknado 3
Getting signed by Russell Simmons back in the early 90s is like having Dr Dre in your corner today, so it might surprise most people to hear that Simmons wished he could have signed the rapping Genie who once rapped “Kobe, tell me how my ass taste.” Well, actually it’s not if you consider that in 1992, Shaq was on the top of the world and his not-so-great debut album went platinum while Simmon’s Def Jam was on the verge of going bankrupt.
TMZ recently caught up with Shaq to let him know about the praise from Simmons and Shaq replied that he would have signed back then and he’s never going back to the rap game again. His answer was because he’s in his 40s but considering Jay-Z is 44 and Dr Dre is 49, age doesn’t mean anything in hip-hop anymore.
Although Shaq is no longer making music, he’s found a new part-time gig spinning music as a DJ and from what I’ve heard, he “killed it” in Vegas earlier this Summer.
Another gig Shaq is hoping to land is a part in Sharknado 3!

Dime: The director of Sharknado has publicly said he’d like to have you for the third instalment. Have you seen the first two and are you interested?
Shaq: I was watching the first and second one last weekend and I said to myself, I’d love to be in Sharknado 3. I’d kill the sharks, eat them for dinner. I actually had my people call them so we’ll see what happens.
It can’t be any worse than a sequel to Kazaam or Steel.
