I remember my middle school basketball coach telling me to always make a move with the ball before putting the ball on the floor. That move can be a pass fake or jump shot fake or a head nod or anything that can keep the defender guessing before you actually make your offensive move. When big man Thaddeus Young caught the ball near the three point line all it took was a simple pump fake to the man in the corner to get his defender and the defender in the paint to both make a move to the shooter leaving a wide open lane for Young to go down and throw down a left hand power dunk.
