Teams to go down 3-0 in a series are 0-125 and on Saturday, the injury-riddled San Antonio Spurs went down 3-0 against the powerhouse Warriors.
“We got them right where we want them” joked Danny Green after shooting 3 for 11 in the 120-108 loss. He then said, “If anybody could do it, I believe in my guys” when answering a question about “making history” with a comeback. Then he repeated the “right where we want them” joke.
I’m a believer in Pop. I’m willing to lay down risky bets on the Spurs on a nightly basis and after watching how they ended the Rockets season, I’m quoting Kevin Garnett after his championship in Boston. But, they have a Dumb and Dumber chance at a comeback and unless you just want to see one more game by the still entertaining Manu Ginobili or continue to watch Jonathon Simmons raise his future asking price, the last thing most NBA fans want is for the Spurs to win Game 4. We all know the NBA Finals is going to be the Warriors and Cavs and we just want to get to it.
I also just don’t want to watch another under-20 game by LaMarcus Aldridge or another possible injury, like the one that led to the sight of David Lee being taken to the locker room in a wheelchair.
