It was fun owning Stephen Curry in a fantasy league last night as he owned the Miami Heat and dropped 40 points, 7 assists and 8 3-pointers on them.

“You just feel a rhythm,” said Curry who only scored 23 points total in his last 2 games by connecting on 8 of 24 shots. “I had guys set some great screens early to kind of get me going. You start finding shots and it feels good. Even the ones I missed terribly felt good, which is pretty funny.”

The 8 3’s and 7 assists marked the 51st time he has had atleast 5 & 5 in those cats – that pushes him 1 above Ray Allen who was the previous record holder for the very odd record. Tim Hardaway and Nick Van Exel are the only other players to have ever done it more than 40 times.

This game also marked the 33rd time he’s made atleast 6 3’s in the last 5 seasons which is 18 more than JR Smith who is 2nd on that list.  Teammate Klay Thompson is 4th with 13.

“You always stay confident, stay ready,” Curry said. “You win games all sorts of ways with different individual performances. How we shot last game had nothing to do with this game. If we execute our offense well, you’re going to get good shots.”
