23-18! That was the score after the first quarter between Steph Curry and the Phoenix Suns. The Suns did respond by outscoring the Warriors 34-17 after being down by 23 in the opening quarter but they never found an answer for Curry, who racked up 42 points, 11 assists, 8 threes, 5 boards, 2 steals and even 2 blocks in the Warriors 13th straight victory.
“I think we got mesmerized as a team,” Kerr said. “We were so enamored with what Steph was doing that we kind of stopped playing to start the second quarter.”
What Steph has been doing of late is playing like a 2x MVP on a championship contending team; This was his second 42-point performance in his last three games and his fourth 20/10 game over his last eight. He also has four blocks over his last two which is the most he’s ever had over a two game span.
