The main story was obviously the Warriors chasing the record for best start in NBA history and when the night was over the Warriors were tied with the 48/49 Washington Capitals and 93/94 Rockets with a 15-0 start. But a fun side story was the match-up between MVP candidate Steph Curry and Rookie of the Year candidate Emmanuel Mudiay.
Curry finished with a human-like 19 points and 7 assists in just 28 minutes and Mudiay had 17 and 8 but missed 15 of 21 shots.
Tonight it was all about the streak but for years to come the main story might become the match-up between the two guards – which is fine with Danilo Gallinari who isn’t looking forward to guarding Steph one-on-one again.
“It’s a huge accomplishment,” Curry said the record start. “Obviously, coming off a championship and taking care of business 15 straight times to start the season — couldn’t ask for a better start.
It’s kind of a quiet confidence that we don’t feel like we’re going to lose anytime soon. The way we’re playing … we can get even better.”
And higher…you know Steph wanted to dunk this!
