So what’s better than Kobe Bryant’s 44 points in 31 minutes in a loss. How about Stephen Curry’s 30 points and 15 assists in 30 minutes in a blowout win?
Curry and the Warriors came out shooting, many times within 5 seconds on a possession, during the first quarter against the Lakers on Sunday night. By the end of the first quarter they had outscored the Lakers by 11. Then they outscored the Lakers by 8 in the 2nd quarter and then dropped a 41-24 3rd quarter which had the Lakers waiving the white flag.
“We had a great start to the game,” Curry said. “We were focused at both ends of the floor and we made it as tough as possible on them at the defensive end. Our defense definitely made Kobe make some tough ones. If you make him work, hopefully you’ll wear him down. And we were able to do that.”
Curry was able to do a pretty good Magic Johnson impersonation for the Lakers fans with a couple showtime assists.
Curry’s 30 & 15 game was his 5th since the start of the 2013/14 season. Chris Paul (2) is the only other player in the league to have at least 1 since then.
