I was expecting to see a big pic of #VinoBlanco hitting the game winning shot over Dwight Howard on his website steveblakebasketball.com (yes, Steve Blake has an official website) this morning but no update yet about the heartbreaking (if you are a Rockets fan) three point prayer with 1.3 seconds left. The shot gave the Kobe-less Lakers a 99-98 victory and ended a 4 game losing streak at the Toyota center.
For Lakers fan, it wasn’t just the shot that made their day, it was all of the missed free throws by ex Laker Dwight Howard that lead up to the shot. Dwight made 5 of 16 free throws and only 1 of 6 in the final couple minutes.
“I think [the Hack-a-Howard] went real well because it took Harden out of the game. … I thought the tide had turned, and Harden’s tough to guard one-on-one. I’d rather have Dwight there instead of Harden.”
— Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni
“Our free throws were terrible. We just have to keep working. It was terrible tonight.”
— Dwight Howard
Thank you Jesus!! Great team win for us all. Everyone contributed big time! And a big thanks to the Laker family out there for your support!
