Everybody remembers their first time. Most should be a good memory but it’s rare that you will hear an athlete speak about how great it was when they were first traded.
On ‘Open Court,’ former All-Star Steve Smith told a sad but hilarious story about the first time he was traded. You can just visualize a sad Smitty and a pissed off Grant Long watching the airplane fly away as they wait at the airport for a ride.
This isn’t the first time Smith told a heartbreaking/funny story on the show. A couple of seasons ago he talked about how he knew it was time for him to hang up his sneakers after Jamal Crawford embarrassed him.
You can watch Smith & Jamal tell the story at the 36 minute mark of this video.
