You probably don’t remember Iverson, Tmac, Kenyon Martin and Vince Carter representing the United States in 2003 but they were part of the exciting Team USA 2003 team that competed in the Tournament of the Americas.  They were the first “redeem team” to the 2002 team that finished 6th in the FIBA World Championship.  This team had the exciting players just mentioned along with greats Jason Kidd, Ray Allen, Tim Duncan and some not so greats like Nick Collison.

On this one specific play, greatness was shown when three of the best fast break players ever were on the run.  Iverson threw a behind the back pass to Jason Kidd who lobs it off the glass to Vince Carter.  The best part of the play is when the defender under the basket saw it was Vince Carter in the air so he just got out the way.  He obviously remembers what Vince was doing in Australia and didn’t want to be an updated version of the Lipton.

Not mentioned in the short documentary is how the video ended up online.  Here’s that story and the first copy of the dunk to hit the web (by yours truly).
