The Pelicans’ Terrence Jones has quietly been putting up some nice numbers in limited minutes this season. On Monday, with Anthony Davis sitting out, Jones was louder than a bomb with a career-high 36 points (13-18 fg, 3-4 3pt), 11 boards and 3 blocks in a surprising 124-122 win over the slumping Cavs. One of those three blocks was the block of the night – a surprising rejection on a LeBron James dunk followed by a stare down.
“I just wanted help my team get a win and I think that’s what I did,” Said a modest sounding Jones, who helped his team get some redemption after embarrassingly losing to the Nets by 29 in their last game.
LeBron was also pretty loud in a calm tone after the loss, with a profanity-laced vent to the media about needing a “fucking playmaker.”
