One aspect of many all-time greats’ games that doesn’t get mentioned enough is footwork. It’s the first thing I mention when discussing what makes Hakeem the most skilled center of all-time.  It’s what makes Jamal Crawford’s crossover and handles so deadly. It’s one of the main reasons why footwork master Kobe Bryant was known as the best one-on-one player in the league and Michael Jordan before him.

Our friends over at Stronger Team put together a beautiful compilation of great footwork clips by past and present NBA greats with some music by Mos Def and titled the work of art The Art of Footwork (Basketball Motivation).  If it doesn’t motivate  you to work on your game then I don’t know what will.

Well, it’s not basketball but here’s my favorite footwork master.
