Remember when Under Armour attempted to sign KD? Yea so do I, but that didn’t happen. KD & Nike’s relationship is pretty strong. Considering the fact that Nike remains a powerhouse that uncontrollably produces high performance product after product. It’s 2015 & Nike has two new technologies they would like to introduce to everybody & what better way to do it than adding it to Kevin Durant’s 8th signature shoe.
Say hello to Nike’s most recent and innovative technologies, Flyweave & full-length Zoom Air unit. If you’re wondering what flyweave is, its material is based on the design principals that was engineered for spacesuits. Yea, Nike Hoops is adding spacesuit material for your basketball shoes… sheeeesh. The newly redesigned Zoom Air Unit is now provided throughout the entire bottom of the shoe which allows responsive cushioning that moves naturally with your foot.
The heel of the shoe is inspired by the prehistoric cat, the Sabertooth tiger which KD has tatted on his right leg. Representing KD’s instincts, ferocity and prehistoric old soul he brings to the court every night. Looks like another low cut sneaker with a FLYWEAVE upper and a FULL-LENGTH ZOOM AIR UNIT for its outsole, this shoe has to produce high performance on the court.
I’d honestly cop these, especially after I read that Flyweave is based on spacesuit materials & technology… it may possibly be the closest I can get to going to space.
Check the images below for the V8 (red) & 4th of July colorways of the KD8’s… or should I say Nike KD Space Voyagers… nahh.
The KD8 July 4th colorway will be available at selected Nike retailers June 27. The KD8 V8 will be dropping July 11.
